Director Vetrimaaran is currently working on his ambitious project ‘Arasan,’ which stars Silambarasan TR in the lead role. The film has already generated strong excitement as it marks the first collaboration between the acclaimed filmmaker and the popular star. Mounted on a large scale, the film is expected to present Silambarasan in a powerful role. But the film’s shooting was put on hold due to Silambarasan’s long-pending issue with the ‘Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu’ producer.
Ken Karunaas is not part of ‘Arasan’; Vetrimaaran is busy with another film
Earlier reports suggested that actor Ken Karunaas had joined the cast of Arasan. However, the latest update from Valai Pechu clarified that he has not been roped in for the film. Meanwhile, Vetrimaaran is also working on another project simultaneously and is said to be shooting ‘Rajan Vagaiyara’ with Ken Karunaas in parallel. Because of this dual schedule, some confusion arose about new additions to the cast of ‘Arasan.‘
‘Arasan’ shoot expected to resume soon with a strong cast and crew
The shooting of ‘Arasan’ is expected to resume soon. The film is reportedly set in North Chennai and will focus on the world of gangsters and their power struggles in the city. Reports also suggest that Vijay Sethupathi may appear in the film in a key role. The project also features a strong supporting cast, including Ameer Sultan, Andrea Jeremiah, Priyanka Mohan, Yogi Babu, Samuthirakani, and Kishore in important roles. The music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
STR–Ishari Ganesh issue resolved with a compensation agreement
Meanwhile, the long-standing issue between Silambarasan and producer Ishari K. Ganesh has reportedly been resolved. A compensation of around Rs 6.5 crore will be paid to resolve the dispute. As for Silambarasan, he will be bringing in Rs 4 crore, while ‘Arasan’ producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu will contribute Rs 2.5 crore. The problem has now been resolved, and in a short time, Silambarasan will likely wrap up the three-day ad shoot and resume working on the ‘Arasan’ shooting schedule.
