Shiver said the relationship began in 2022 when she joined as an intern and later worked as Moore’s executive assistant after he became head coach at the University of Michigan in 2024. She said the power dynamic played a major role in how things unfolded.“He could fire me in a second,” Shiver said during the “Good Morning America” interview, explaining the pressure she felt in the workplace. The emotional core of her interview centred on her pregnancy and the medical complications that followed. Shiver said doctors gave her a clear warning after diagnosing complications linked to Pompe disease, a rare genetic disorder.“Multiple doctors and experts told me that it wouldn’t be right or healthy for me to keep the baby,” she said on-air during the ABC News segment. When Linsey Davis asked if she personally wanted to continue the pregnancy, Shiver paused and replied, “Yeah.”Shiver also said Moore was aware of the situation. “He said, ‘You have to do what’s right for your body,’” she recalled during the interview, describing his response at the time. The emotional weight of the decision still lingers for her. “Back then, I did, but obviously looking back at things and really reflecting on what happened, what was happening, that’s not love at all,” she said, reflecting on the relationship.Shiver also described a frightening incident in December 2025, which led to Moore’s arrest the same day he was removed from his role at the University of Michigan. She said he entered her home unexpectedly and became aggressive.“All of a sudden, I hear footsteps, and they’re getting closer and louder, so I’m like, ‘Crap.’ So I run to my door to try to lock it,” Shiver said. “He barges in, and he’s standing this close to me, and he said, ‘You ruined my life, why would you do this to me?’ And I started backing up, and he started following me. He’s not supposed to be here. He’s not listening to me.” Shiver said she felt unsafe during the encounter. “Oh my gosh, yes. He’s 6’4”, and he comes in with his hood up, looking down at me, saying I ruined his life, crying, and he starts coming at me,” she said.Moore later pleaded no contest to two misdemeanours and received 18 months of probation in April 2026. His attorney said in a statement to ABC News, “Sherrone Moore has closed this chapter.” Shiver, however, said she believes the punishment did not match the seriousness of the situation.
