SALEM: TVK candidates took early leads in Salem North, Salem West and Salem South, giving the party a notable foothold in a district traditionally shaped by established Dravidian parties. However, AIADMK continues to retain control over the rest of the district’s eleven constituencies, underscoring its enduring cadre strength, local networks and sustained influence across Salem. The early trend suggested that while AIADMK remained the dominant force district-wide, TVK positioned itself as a serious challenger in select segments.
