For Tollywood Veteran actor Nagarjuna May 23 is an important day filled with memories and emotions. The date first became special in 1986 when the star started his journey as a lead actor with ‘Vikram’. The film marked the beginning of a career that would go on to entertain audiences for decades.On the special occasion, Nagarjuna shared an emotional note on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “Thank you for all the blessings and love being showered on me today. May 23!! the date I cannot forget!!”
‘Manam’ made the date even more special
The importance of May 23 grew even more years later with the release of ‘Manam’. The film remains one of the most emotional projects in the Akkineni family’s history. It was the final on-screen appearance of legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao. The movie brought together three generations of the Akkineni family. Nagarjuna shared screen space with his father ANR and his sons, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil Akkineni. He added, “The day which I had the honour of producing and releasing the last film MANAM of my legendary father ANR the film which I had the privilege of working both with my father and my sons. Years ago MAY 23 also gave me the opportunity to release my first film Vikram, an opportunity to entertain you,to be blessed and loved by all of you. My deepest gratitude to all the fans who have stood by me all these years. Nagarjuna shares ‘Lenin’ teaser
Today, Nagarjuna also revealed the teaser of his son Akhil Akkineni’s upcoming movie ‘Lenin’. Sharing the trailer he wrote, “Today, May 23rd నా సిని జీవితం మొదలైన రోజు Akhil నాకో చిన్న surprise ఇచ్చాడు చూస్తుంటే చాలా హాయి గా ఉంది మీరు చూడండి. మనోడు వస్తున్నాడు….” which loosley translates in English to, “Today, May 23rd, is the day my film journey began. Akhil gave me a small surprise, and watching it feels very pleasant and heartwarming. Take a look yourselves. Our boy is coming…”Meanwhile, Nagarjun is currently working on his upcoming movie tentatively named ‘King100’. The film also marks his reunion with Tabu. Directed by Ra Karthik, the movie is speculated to be titled ‘Asurudu’.
