Bhilwara: Gangrar police in Chittorgarh district Thursday busted an illegal arms trafficking gang and arrested four men, including the buyer of an illegal pistol. Police recovered one pistol with a magazine and two additional magazines from their possession.The arrested accused were identified as Bablu Siklighar (24), a resident of Gangrar and alleged buyer of the pistol; Deepak (24), a resident of Baran and alleged supplier of the weapon; Nikhil (21) and Jitendra (26), both residents of Udaipur.Chittorgarh SP Dharmendra Singh said a special campaign against illegal weapons is underway in the district, under which a team led by Gangrar SHO Shyamaram was formed. The team acted on a tip-off and intercepted the accused near Right Choice Hotel on the Bhilwara-Chittorgarh highway and arrested them.Police seized the pistol and a magazine from Bablu, while one magazine each was recovered from Deepak and Nikhil. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.Police said Deepak has around six to seven previous cases registered against him under the Arms Act, robbery and murder charges in Kota and Baran districts. Nikhil earlier served jail time in a POCSO case.
