A massive fire broke out on Monday late night in the Kebon Kosong area of Kemayoran, Central Jakarta in Indonesia, destroying around 250 semi-permanent homes and displacing 300 families.According to The Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency, they received the initial report at around 8.55 pm local time and the agency immediately dispatched firefighters to the scene.The blaze began in two houses at around 9pm before spreading rapidly. According to the reports, three people got injured and they are being treated at Hermina Kemayoran Hospital and RSCM hospital.According to local authorities, after several hours of firefighting operations, the fire was brought under control at approximately 11.30 pm Monday, while response efforts were completed at 4.15 am on Tuesday.The fire displaced around 330 households, affecting nearly 620 residents who were forced to flee their homes as the flames tore through the densely populated settlement.Investigators suspect that an electrical short circuit as the cause of the fire, though the official inquiry continues.
