Injured Kuno cheetah suffered internal bleeding, next few days critical: Vets

Bhopal: The condition of KGP11, an injured 27-month-old Indian-born female cheetah which was rescued at Kuno National Park, remained critical after veterinarians confirmed internal bleeding during a second health examination on Thursday.KGP11 was found injured near the Pahargarh area of Morena district on June 1 after a tracking team noticed unusual behaviour and alerted park authorities.Kuno’s veterinary team rushed to the site and carried out an initial assessment of the injured feline.The cheetah was later shifted to the veterinary facility at Palpur for intensive treatment and monitoring. A detailed examination confirmed internal haemorrhage, following which doctors began medical treatment.Officials said the next few days are crucial as the cheetah remains under close observation.Uttam Kumar Sharma, field director of the Kuno Cheetah Project, said expert veterinarians were continuously monitoring KGP11 and every effort was being made to revive the injured feline.
