The rear adopts a similar approach with connected LED tail-lamps linked by a light strip, while boomerang-shaped lighting elements add to the updated design.

The teaser also provides a better look at the car’s revised proportions. Compared to the current model, the next-generation i20 appears more upright and angular, with sharper body lines and a less rounded profile. Other changes will include redesigned alloy wheels, updated bumpers and a more vertical front-end treatment. While Hyundai has yet to reveal the cabin, it’s expected to feature a completely redesigned dashboard. Expected features include a dual-screen layout for the infotainment system and instrument cluster, a redesigned dashboard, updated upholstery, a 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS.Internationally, the new i20 may gain hybrid powertrain options. In India, the existing engine line-up is expected to continue. The standard model is likely to retain the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 83PS with the manual gearbox and 88PS with the iVT automatic. The i20 N Line is expected to continue with the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that develops 120PS and 172Nm, paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. The fourth-generation i20 is expected to make its global debut during the 2026 FIFA World Cup and will introduce one of the most significant design updates seen on the hatchback to date.
