Ahmedabad: The state education department released figures from the third round of admissions under the Right to Education (RTE) Act for Class 1 in private schools. In this phase, 1,926 pupils have been allocated seats under the 25% reserved quota. Candidates offered a seat must confirm admission by visiting the allotted school with the necessary documents by June 15.About 7,022 seats were still vacant after the first two rounds, necessiating the third round which saw 1,02,251 valid applications. Of these, 43,658 applicants updated their school preferences, whereas 58,593 kept their previous selections. Even with seats available, only 1,926 admissions were completed, and 5,096 seats still remain unfilled.Gujarati medium schools filled 895 seats, with 463 seats still available. English-medium schools recorded 1,017 filled seats, while 2,894 are still vacant. Hindi-medium schools had just two admissions for 1,578 seats available. Additionally, 12 seats were allotted in other mediums, with 163 yet to be filled.
