Naidu credits NDA for reviving AP’s economy from ‘ventilator’ stage

Tirupati: Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu credited the BJP-led NDA govt at the centre for coming to the rescue of the state, which he said was on a ventilator about two years ago. Addressing a public meeting marking the 2 years of successful rule of the TDP-led NDA govt in the state in Tirupati on Friday, Naidu asserted that the public representatives must remain accountable citizens’ servants rather than feudal rulers, framing their historic 2024 electoral mandate as a profound responsibility to rebuild the state.Highlighting a systematic turnaround, the chief minister detailed robust welfare and governance deliveries over the past two years. Under the NTR Bharosa initiative, the administration distributed over ₹65,000 crore in pensions, while the Shakti scheme facilitated free bus journeys for women across the state. Agricultural support was bolstered through the Annadata Sukhibhava scheme, providing farmers ₹20,000 annually and ensuring paddy procurement payments within 24 hours.Furthermore, the government addressed unemployment by filling 15,941 teacher posts through the mega DSC and recruiting 5,757 police constables, while simultaneously clearing ₹21,000 crore in employee dues.On economic development, Naidu asserted that investor credibility has been restored through sweeping “Speed of Doing Business” reforms. Notable milestones include a fifth-generation fighter aircraft project in Puttaparthi approved in just 36 days, a new Royal Enfield unit in Tirupati, and upcoming gold mining in Kurnool. Tech giants like Google, Cognizant, and TCS are expanding into Visakhapatnam, while Amaravati is being developed as a “Quantum Valley.The Chief Minister praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, thanking the Union govt for its steady support on crucial state assets like the Polavaram project, Amaravati, and the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. Highlighting the efforts of the state govt in completing the Handri-Neeva project in 100 days to bring water to Kuppam, Naidu vowed to link the Srisailam dam to the Kalyani dam near Tirupati soon.The celebratory meet was attended by deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan, IT minister Nara Lokesh, union ministers Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, state ministers, MLAs, MPs, MLCs and others.
