5-yr-old boy falls from fourth floor, dies

Pune: A five-year-old boy died after he fell from the balcony of his relatives’ flat on the fourth floor in a housing society on Wagholi-Lohegaon Road on Friday.The Wagholi police on Saturday registered an accidental death report in this regard.Senior inspector Nandkumar Gaikwad of Wagholi police told TOI: “The boy, Advik Pranav, was playing in the living room alone. His mother and some relatives were chatting in the bedroom, while others had gone out. The family is from Bihar.”“The boy went to the balcony. We suspect he fell through the space between the iron railings along the balcony. None of the family members noticed him fall. Building residents gathered and raised an alarm. It was only then that the family realised what had happened,” Gaikwad said.“Advik was an only child. He and his parents had come to Pune a week ago to meet their relatives, who stay in the said flat. We are yet to record the statements of the family members,” he added.
