Spoken-word artist and poet Nayab Midha will perform in Kolkata on June 6 as part of her acclaimed Rajkumari tour. Widely credited with helping bring spoken-word poetry into the mainstream, Midha has built a massive following through her emotionally resonant performances, amassing over 2.4 million followers on Instagram and becoming the first female spoken-word artist in India to cross one million viewers on the platform.Fresh off a tour of Australia and New Zealand and after performing across six countries in the last year, Midha arrives in Kolkata with Rajkumari, a 2.5-hour solo special that has sold out venues internationally. Her journey from an engineering graduate and former Infosys employee to one of India’s most recognisable spoken-word voices has inspired a new generation of artists and audiences alike.Known for collaborating with major brands and helping establish spoken word as a commercially viable art form, Midha has played a key role in expanding opportunities for poets and performers in India.
