Chandigarh: A five-day training programme on digital forensics and cyber investigation was held at CenCOPS, Chandigarh, from May 4 to 8 in collaboration with the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C). Investigating officers from Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan participated in it.The programme aimed to strengthen law enforcement capabilities in handling cybercrime and digital evidence. Sessions covered digital forensics, open-source intelligence (OSINT), malware forensics, CDR/IPDR analysis, and investigation methodologies.Expert faculty and cyber specialists conducted hands-on sessions using real-life case studies, familiarising officers with modern forensic tools, evidence-handling protocols and advanced investigation techniques.Interactive discussions and scenario-based exercises helped participants sharpen skills in analysing digital evidence, tracing online activity and tackling emerging cyber threats.Officials said the initiative underscores CenCOPS and I4C’s focus on bolstering cyber policing and enhancing interstate coordination.
