COIMBATORE: V Senthil Balaji, DMK candidate IN Coimbatore South, visited polling booths at Ram Nagar Corporation Girls Higher Secondary school. He interacted with the booth agents about the polling situation and inquired if there were any discrepancies. The order of EVMs had been changed at a few polling booths in Coimbatore South which were brought to the notice of DMK candidate V Senthil Balaji. Based on which he inspected over 70 booths. During one such inspection at Ram Nagar Corporation Girls Higher secondary school, in booth 91 the order of two EVMs was changed causing a delay in casting the votes. Senthil Balaji inspected the booth and directed the presiding officer and was rectified on the spot.He said to TOI, “It was brought to my notice that EVM order was changed. Usually, prominent parties would be listed in the first EMV unit. Independent candidates will be listed next. But in a few places the orders starting with serial no. 17 to 31 were placed first followed by serial no 1 to 16. Ultimately people will take a little longer to locate their candidates in such confusions. This issue was immediately address during the inspection. I got to visit 70 booths of which only two to three booths had such issues and got them rectified.”
