Google has launched Fitbit Air, a tiny, screenless health tracker designed for users who find traditional smartwatches too bulky, complicated or expensive. Google is calling it a device that is built to be a discreet, “proactive wellness partner” that stays out of the way while providing high-end health data. Google says that Fitbit Air is its smallest health tracker yet, and despite its miniature “pebble” design, the Fitbit Air is packed with high-fidelity sensors. Since it does not have a screen, users do not have to worry about constant notifications, accessing their deep health insights through the Google Health app on their smartphones.

Google Fitbit Air: How it works
The Google launches Fitbit Air tracks a wide range of vital health metrics, including 24/7 heart rate monitoring and rhythm checks with Afib alerts, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, and SpO2 levels and detailed duration and sleep stages. The tracker is lightweight that Google claims users will “forget it’s there,” making it ideal for 24/7 wear. It also features integration for Pixel Watch users, who can swap to the Fitbit Air at night for more comfortable sleep tracking without losing data continuity.
Battery life and activity tracking
The Fitbit Air is claimed to offer up to one week of battery life on a single charge. For those in a rush, a quick five-minute charge provides a full day of power, Google claims. Activity tracking is handled automatically for common workouts, though users can also log exercises manually. The Google Health Coach allows users to snap photos of gym equipment or whiteboard routines to log their sessions. The Fitbit Air features a “pop-out” pebble design, allowing users to swap bands in seconds. Google is offering multiple styles, including Performance Loop which is a breathable, micro-adjustable band made from recycled materials (included in-box); Active Band which is sweatproof and waterproof silicone for intense training and a stylish option that transforms the tracker into a fashionable bracelet.Google also collaborated with NBA star Stephen Curry for a Special Edition Performance Loop band. This version features a rye brown and orange colorway with a unique interior print designed to increase airflow during high-intensity movement.
