Indian fashion and craftsmanship found representation on the Cannes International Red Carpet 2026 as designer Jaya Misra made her debut at the prestigious event.Marking her 20 year long career, Misra showcased a contemporary couture interpretation of the saree, featuring intricate handwork, pearls and detailed craftsmanship. Her appearance highlighted the growing global recognition of Indian fashion and artisanal heritage.Having previously presented her creations in cities such as Milan, New York, Dubai, Vancouver, Tokyo and Belgrade, the designer continues to promote Indian craftsmanship on international platforms.Speaking about the experience, Misra said, “Cannes was more than a red carpet moment—it was a celebration of twenty years of creativity, perseverance, and representing Indian couture on a global platform.”
