Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said Thursday that Rajasthan aims to provide daytime electricity to farmers in all districts by 2027, expanding a scheme now operational in 24 districts.Speaking at the GRAM-2026 Investor Meet in New Delhi, Sharma said the state govt is focusing on strengthening agriculture through infrastructure and technology-led measures. He invited investors and entrepreneurs to attend the Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet (GRAM)-2026 in Jaipur from May 23 to 25.Sharma said the event will bring together farmers, experts, policymakers and investors to promote agricultural innovation and support the vision of a stronger farm sector. He added that GRAM-related activities are being held from Girdawar circle to district level to widen farmer participation.On the sidelines of the meet, Sharma held one-on-one discussions with trade representatives, entrepreneurs and startups, and met embassy officials from Canada, Russia, Australia, Italy, Brazil, Vietnam and Argentina to explore agricultural investment opportunities. Talks covered Russian drone technology, Canadian stubble management, Brazilian soybean production and methanol production from maize.Sharma asked officials to deepen engagement with countries leading in farm innovation to help Rajasthan adopt advanced technologies. He said the investor meet would connect farmers with domestic and global markets, support agri-startups, create jobs and strengthen the rural economy.Highlighting Rajasthan’s farm output, Sharma said the state leads in production of crops like bajra, mustard, oilseeds, barley, guar, isabgol and cumin, creating scope for investment in food processing, spice parks and agri-exports. He said more than 1,500 agricultural processing units have been set up and land identified for food parks, while efforts are also underway to boost dairy, fisheries and animal husbandry.Agriculture Minister Kirori Lal Meena said GRAM outreach programmes will also be held in Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Pune. He said the event will feature discussions with policymakers, scientists and farm experts, along with special sessions ‘Jajam Chaupal’, and initiatives promoting women entrepreneurship and agri-startups.
