Hyderabad: An 18-year-old truck cleaner was arrested for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl from a village at Yalal mandal of Vikarabad.A Pocso case was booked against the accused and he was arrested on Thursday evening.According to Yalal police, the accused noticed that the girl, who is a high school student, was alone at home on Thursday evening. On the pretext of asking for a phone charger and water, he knocked on the door. “As the girl went into the house, he followed her and raped her inside the house,” Yalal SI Vittal Reddy said.After the assault, the accused fled from the house after threatening the survivor not to reveal the assault to anyone. As soon as she saw her family members, the girl told them that she was raped. Police were alerted by the family, and the accused was caught immediately in the same neighbourhood.On the complaint of the girl’s family, Yalal police registered a case under Section 3 read with 4 of the Pocso Act against the accused. “We produced the accused before the court on Friday, and he was remanded to judicial custody,” the SI said.
