Hyderabad: Reacting sharply to the AP deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan’s remarks on Telangana is not Jagir (private estate) of anyone, BRS working president KT Rama Rao said Telangana undoubtedly belongs to four crore of Telangana people, `sons of the soil’, who fought and sacrificed their lives for Telangana. He said in the past 12 years after formation of Telangana, there was no single incident between the people belonging to the Telugu states.He said people from AP including Pawan Kalyan’s family live here and do businesses like many others do. He said Pawan Kalyan’s party Jana Sena contested in 2023 assembly elections and 350 places in the recently held municipal elections in Telangana. In 2018 Telugu Desam party contested. Who is stopping them contesting the elections,” the BRS working president said at the meet-the-press programme at Somajiguda press club on Wednesday.KTR said it is absolutely wrong a person, who did not like the bifurcation of AP was done and did not eat for 11 days, wants to hold a meeting on Telangana formation day. The BRS leader said Telangana people, need not learn lessons from Pawan Kalyan on patriotism as Telangana has decades of history of patriotism and fighting spirit.He also objected to the Jana Sena Party (JSP) chief’s comments that regionalism is more danger than terrorism. KTR said Potti Sriramulu fought and went on 58 days indefinite hunger strike for separate state for Telugus by dividing from erstwhile Madras state, can we call it as `regionalism’, he asked. Prime Minister Narendra Modi diverted major projects from Telangana to Gujarat to develop his own state, should we call it as `economic terrorism in the name of nationalism, he added.The BRS leader also reminded though Telugus are divided, the BRS aims as Telugus we should be united. He also recalled the BRS opposed privatisation of Visakha steel plant and the party leaders expressed their solidarity to the agitating employees.Expressing confidence on returning power in Telangana by winning 90 assembly seats, KTR said BRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao is the OG of the party, who would come whenever necessary. He asserted that the BRS would definitely defeat Revanth Reddy in Kodangal.Describing the Congress ruling in the past 30 months as a `disaster’ and cheated on every section of the society. KTR dared CM Revanth Reddy to seek the votes of people after implementing the 420 promises made to the people during the 2023 assembly elections instead of talking other issues.The BRS working president termed the Future City as a future less city and said the BRS govt would scrap the future city after coming to power.ends/
