Kalyan: Police probe has found that days before a cab driver, Ganesh Shinde (30), and a 27-year-old woman were found dead with sharp weapon injuries inside a parked car in Badlapur, he allegedly confided in a friend that either she would live or he would.Police suspect that woman was murdered before Shinde allegedly died by suicide. The case came to light after the woman’s four-year-old son, who was inside the vehicle at the time of the incident, reportedly alerted relatives staying nearby about his mother’s death. The relatives found the two bodies of the woman inside the parked car and alerted Badlapur (East) police. The woman lived with her husband, who runs a tea stall, and son in Ghatkopar before moving to Badlapur’s Juweli area in 2024.Police said the woman first met Shinde, a bachelor from Diva, around three months ago when she booked a cab ride. They soon got into a relationship. Police said Shinde’s sister was also aware of their affair.During the probe, police allegedly found evidence suggesting that the woman was blackmailing Shinde and extorting money from him. Senior police inspector Nitin Patil said the woman had recently blocked Shinde’s phone number, which left him angry and emotionally disturbed. “We learned that Shinde had confided in a friend about the distress he was facing. He had allegedly told the friend that either the woman would remain alive or he would,” Patil said.Police are examining the sequence of events, financial transactions, and communication records between the woman and the cabbie as part of the probe into the deaths.
